STORYLINE
SCRIPT: CHRISTIAN DIOR
The mighty house of Dior unveiled this seasons Haute Couture Collection today at their Flagship store on Avenue Montaigne in Paris.
The scrumptious set was filled with red, pink and yellow roses as they
cascaded throughout the boutique. The models made dramatic poses on
the grande stair case and then sashayed through the long and winding catwalk. Each model more divine than the next. Mr. Charley James was responsible for this seasons inspiration at the house of Dior, along with one of the houses most famous clients Millicent Rogers, the eccentric heiress was known to team flashing colors like magenta, petrol blue, olive and sapphire. There were also luxurious and over sized jewels and bold equestrian inspired looks.
The inspiration was also based on the debut de sicle ladies that rode ”en amazone” (side-saddle). It was represented in the collection with riding jackets, halter-neck dresses and riding skirts. A classic but new look at a style that mixes beauty and wildness with fragility and imposition. Christian Dior”s collection for Spring/Summer 2010 also had Galliano revisit beloved classic English tailoring fabrics, wool satin, tricotine and cotton pique.
John Galliano is the chief women”s wear designer for Dior Haute Couture and Pret-a-Porter (Ready to Wear) since 1996. He presented his first Haute Couture collection in 2007.
